Adapted to climates from the transition zone northward; grows to 4’; well suited for meadows, ditch banks; best adapted to well drained, moist, medium textured soils; moderate salinity tolerance; fairly shade tolerant; not well adapted for extended periods of drought; common pasture grass, excellent palatability.

Germination in 21 days, planted in the summer.
